Join the Community Campaign to Save Northampton's Restaurants

This week, 413 Takeout kicks off in an effort to provide some much-needed community help to Northampton’s restaurants including those in Florence and Leeds. The campaign was developed by the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce’s (GNCC’s) Economic Development Committee (EDC) and the Downtown Northampton Association (DNA) and is supported by a generous contribution from Northampton Cooperative, a division of Greenfield Cooperative Bank.

In announcing their support, Northampton Cooperative CEO Michael Tucker noted “Northampton Cooperative recognizes the need to support local restaurants in these unprecedented times. Restaurants are generally small businesses that are important to our return to some normalcy, hopefully sooner rather than later.”

Everyone in the community is being asked to take the 413 pledge to:

4= recruit four friends or family
1= to take out a restaurant meal weekly
3= for three months

The idea of a restaurant-focused campaign emanated from an EDC survey designed by member Bob Fazzi, the former CEO of Fazzi Associates. Respondents felt that a healthy restaurant community was key to the rejuvenation of the City. “Nearly every respondent listed the plight of restaurants as either the important or the most important issue that needed addressing,” stated Fazzi.

In addition, for the first 500 people to take the pledge, a $10 donation will be made to Feed the Frontlines – Nourish Our Community, a new partnership between the Northampton Survival Center and Grow Food Northampton’s Community Food Distribution Project and the DNA. Funds to support this effort are being provided by a collective of community members who wanted to demonstrate their support of 413 Takeout, the local restaurant community and the Community Food Distribution Project / Feed the Frontlines partnership.

Pledge forms are available on Northampton.Live as of Monday, February 15, 2021, as well as via both the Chamber’s and DNA’s websites. Everyone is encouraged to take the 413 Takeout pledge and enjoy delicious restaurant food from the multitude of offerings available throughout Northampton, Florence and Leeds.

  1. I will be driving up to North Hampton on Saturday. I have been trying to find a local restaurant to pick up lunch from. So far I can not find a list from your site.
