Let’s Hear from your hosts
With those who aren’t familiar, tell us, what’s new at Danco Modern? 
Danco Modern has been in business in the Valley for almost 50 years. But much has changed here from the days of teak and Nordic designs. We’ve evolved to carry a broad range of styles, with an emphasis on quality and function. The way people spend time in their homes continues to change, and we’re changing with it.
As of 2017, we have new ownership—three young people who had worked at Danco for several years before buying the company. While we proudly carry forward the store’s history of quality and service, our products and store experience has changed a lot in the last 18 months. And we’re just getting started. Just a handful independent furniture stores remain in the area, so we feel an important responsibility to help people improve their homes, and keep furniture shopping fun.
What do you appreciate about doing business in this area?
We love living and working here in “the country,” but in an area with so much culture. Because we sell home goods, we’re often among the first to meet new residents to the area, or those contemplating moving here. It’s clear that many are attracted here for the same reasons we all cherish the region. And of course, we’re grateful for our past and repeat customers. It’s truly satisfying to run into our customers around town, share greeting, and know we did well by them and the warmth is mutual.
What are you most excited about as the hosts of the next Arrive@5?
Well first of all, Danco is a great place for a party! We’re excited to show off the new look of the store, make new acquaintances from the local business community, and share a drink. We’d love for you all to meet Danco again for the first time.

What else do you want our readers to know?
A growing aspect of the business is our free interior design services. In working with many customers over the years, we’ve learned that buying furniture can be a complicated and sometimes overwhelming process. Laying out a room, selecting materials and colors, matching new furniture with existing pieces—it really does help to have the help of a professional.
We also specialize in what we would call high-function furniture. The technology, materials, ergonomics and even comfort in furniture has changed quite a bit in the last few years. And we’re excited to show Chamber members our favorite new pieces.
