ServiceNet Hosts February Arrive@5

The next Arrive@5 is hosted by ServiceNet at their brand new facility on Village Hill in Northampton. Welcoming ServiceNet to the block are event sponsors, Christopher Heights of Northampton, Fazzi Associates, L3 KEO, and Webber & Grinnell Insurance

Let’s hear from your hosts

ServiceNet is a large non-profit mental health and human services organization, headquartered in Northampton, and employing more than 1,500 staff to provide services throughout western Massachusetts. While the public may be most familiar with our outpatient counseling clinics, ServiceNet’s residential programs account for more than half our business, and include homes and outreach support for individuals living with chronic mental illness, developmental disability, or brain injury. ServiceNet also operates the area’s shelter & housing programs; Prospect Meadow Farm in Hatfield (part of our Vocational Services division); REACH Early Intervention Services for children up to age 3; outpatient Addiction Services and Recovery Houses; and Enrichment Centers for adults with brain injury.

ServceNet’s Prospect Meadow Farm in Hatfield is a vocational program employing more than 70 individuals with developmental disability or autism. Farmhands have the opportunity to gain important work skills—from farming and landscaping, to catering and retail sales—while building community with one another and with area farmers.

Check out this video below to learn more about the Prospect Meadow Farm program.

Ever since the 1970s, when we launched our first programs for people coming out of Northampton State Hospital, we have been known as an innovative organization—pioneering breakthrough treatments, establishing an in-house research department, and developing specialized programs for people with high needs. We’ve been energized in this work by the academic community that surrounds us, many times partnering with professors from Smith College, UMass, and other area institutions to create new programs and enhance our existing services. We have also collaborated on projects with the Mayor’s office, police department, and others, to make our community a safer, healthier place to live. These relationships have been invaluable to us over the years, and we appreciate all of the support we’ve received from the community we serve.

Our new headquarters is located on Village Hill in Northampton, the same land where the state hospital once stood. By building here, we have returned to our roots in new space, and we’re delighted to share both our new building and continuing story with the Chamber community.
