Amanda Shafii
Amanda Shafii is a busy woman. In addition to her work as the owner of local print and design shop CopyCat, she is active on the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is Board President of the Downtown Northampton Association’s Board of Directors. We caught up with her to chat about what drew her to the design business, CopyCat’s recent move to a new storefront, and more.
Tell us a bit about what you do — what services you provide, or what a typical day in your business might look like. At CopyCat, we’re your strategy partner for smart design and print marketing. We help businesses bring their ideas to life through everything from branding and graphic design to high-quality printing, signage, and direct mail.
A typical day is a mix of creative problem-solving and hands-on production — collaborating with clients on their vision, fine-tuning designs, and producing materials that make their brand stand out in the real world.

What made you decide to start (or join) your business? CopyCat is a family business. My background is in neuroscience, but I’ve always been drawn to art and creativity. When I joined the business, I started bringing in graphic design and taught myself everything I could, blending strategy with design.
What really solidified it for me was realizing how much I love being a business owner—building something of my own, supporting other local businesses, and being deeply connected to the community.
What is one of your great success stories, or a recent project you're proud of? We recently moved to King Street! Our new location is in Potpourri Plaza, with convenient, free parking. Stop by and say hello!
