Meet Joseph Cyr, owner of Easthampton Athletic Massage and Joseph Cyr Coaching! Joseph is a familiar face to many in the GNCC community, whether in his role as a Chamber Ambassador, an ARRIVE@5 door-prize winner, or netWORK volunteer. We caught up with him recently to learn more about his work.
How many years have you been in business? Three years since starting my massage therapy practice, and 2.5 years since starting my coaching practice.
Tell us a bit about what you do!
I run two people-centered businesses under one mission of helping others reclaim their energy and pursue what matters most.
At Easthampton Athletic Massage, I help everyday athletes recover from injuries and relieve pain faster so they can stay active and do what they love.
Through my transformational coaching practice, I help mid-career moms overwhelmed by balancing work and family create the harmony they crave while also pursuing personal passions — like starting a side business — without sacrificing their well-being.
What made you decide to start your business?
After 23 years in the corporate security industry, I knew it was time to escape the grind and step into work that truly heals and empowers others. As a business owner, I value independence, purpose, and leaving a legacy for my family — things I couldn’t find in the corporate world.
What else should we know about you or your business?
I’ve been a massive action taker since I was 16, when I stepped past fear to play a jazz solo on stage in front of my entire high school. Today, I’m married to my high school sweetheart (21 years strong), dad to two teenage daughters, and committed to living boldly while shining light for others.
