What inspired you to start your business? How did your business get started?
As a direct rep for a carrier, I came across opportunities that I could not solve due to a limited product line or territory. As an independent telecom agent, I can provide products and services from over 30 national and local telecom carriers, therefore, I am not limited to what or where I can offer services.
Tell us a little bit about your business:
Dovetail Networks is a “one stop shop” for commercial voice, data and high-speed internet access. I provide multiple quotes from multiple carriers such as Comcast Business Class, Spectrum, Verizon, Windstream, etc. Why call three different carriers when you can make just one call to a local, experienced telecom professional?
What is your favorite thing to do in your business?
Solving problems and teaching the customer about the products and how they will help their business. I also love when I save them money.
If nothing else, what is the one piece of information you want someone to know about your business?
My goal is to establish an ongoing relationship with my customers, and if I help them grow their business, I grow mine. When dealing with a direct sales rep, their model is all about new business to meet a monthly sales quota. Where their model is about hunting, mine is farming.
What is the one piece of business advice you would like to share?
It’s not about fitting a product to the customer, it’s about finding a product that fits the customer’s needs.
